We’re excited to introduce a brand new way to celebrate YOU for being on time - every day and every hour! Here is how it works. If you have 1 or fewer tardies during the entire week your name will be entered in to a weekly drawing for an awesome prize. The more you are on time, the better your chances. EVERY DAY AND EVERY HOUR COUNTS toward building great habit. We will draw every Monday morning so you can begin your week with a win. Let’s make every hour count. Be on time, every time every day, every hour and YOU could be the next winner. The winners for last week are Rym Ahmed, Paisley Harvey, Jennifer RIvera, and Kaiya Sechler.
Thanks to the support, money and collaboration of our students, staff, and community, we would like to welcome Archie the service dog to his first day of training at CHS today! 🐾 🐶🐾 He is excited to get to work supporting our building! ❤️
It's school bus safety week! Keep these tips in mind to ensure a safe ride for our students:
Arrive Early: Get to the bus stop at least five minutes before the bus arrives.
Stand Back: Stay at least three giant steps (6 feet) away from the curb while waiting.
Board Safely: Wait until the bus stops completely before approaching the door. Use the handrail.
Stay Seated: Keep aisles clear and remain seated while the bus is moving.
Be Visible: Always cross in front of the bus, never behind, and make sure the driver sees you.
Treat a school bus's flashing lights like a traffic signal; red means STOP!
The afterschool program will NOT be open on Tuesday this week due to parent teacher conferences. It will be available on both Monday and Thursday. Please come to Mrs. Simonds's room after school to work on getting your grades up, get homework help, or just have a quiet place to study.
Auditions are coming up for CHS’s 2025 musical! This year’s musical will be "The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical." Auditions will be held in the CHS choir room (door X near the bus garage) on Monday, November 4 and Tuesday, November 5 from 6-8 PM. You only need to attend one night. Prepare about 30 seconds of a song from a musical to sing at the audition. Find more information on our audition posters around the school. If you have any questions please ask Charlene Rucker, Dr. Simmons, Mrs. Jewell, or Mr. Wood.
