In November 2024, the Michigan Department of Education initiated a program to allow our food service to pack a breakfast and a lunch for students who celebrate Ramadan and do not eat at school because they are fasting during daylight hours. Please note that this waiver does not allow for parent and guardian meal pick-up. Under the program, meals must be served directly to eligible students. To participate, children must attend school on the day the meals are served.
Only one breakfast and one lunch can be passed out each day before the student comes home.
We will distribute meals from Friday, February 28, 2025 until Friday, March 21, 2025.
If your family wants to take advantage of this service, please fill out this form (in English) and return it to your child's school by Wednesday, February 26. We only need one form filled out per family, and it will be for three weeks of meals. If your student will be eating meals during the school day, they cannot receive meals to take home. Lakeland, LMS, and CHS students will use their ID cards to receive their meals at the end of the school day. Larsen and Jefferson will be checked off at the door.
