On April 30, Jefferson 3rd Graders visited Lakeland. The visit included a brief welcome and description of our Cardinal Pride positive behavior support program and academic bootcamp program, followed by a short tour of the building and grounds. Larsen and Lincoln will be visiting soon. Students and parents will have the opportunity to meet their child's 4th grade teacher and visit their classroom prior to the school year at Lakeland's open house scheduled for August 26th from 7-8pm.
On May 14, Lakeland's 5th Grade Band and Choir performed at CHS. The students did an outstanding job. Mrs. Mahle and Mrs. Jewell have done a fantastic job with the students and the learning growth was obvious.
Teacher appreciation week was celebrated May 6-10. The Coldwater Elementary Boosters helped Lakeland staff celebrate by providing lunch on Tuesday, May 7th, and breakfast on Friday, May 10th. Thank you Boosters!
Lakeland Student Council will be sponsoring "The Links of Love, Linking up to Fight Cancer" again this year. The links are $1.00 and the money will go to a family with a young mother who is fighting brain cancer; she has four small children.
Lakeland students are currently participating in end of the year assessments: NWEA Spring assessments, spring district writing prompts, and spring Fountas and Pinnell assessments. These assessments allow us to analyze our instruction and plan for the 2013-14 school year.
