Lincoln Elementary SchoolWe want to thank the United Methodist Church for starting a checking account for us to help out needy families. They have donated quite a bit of money for this account and will replace the money at least once this year once we have depleted the funds. This is a wonderful gift and we thank them.
Our ELL population is continually growing. We have been extremely happy with the growth our students are showing. In this second year of servicing our students here, we see a desire to make some changes for the better. We would like to see servicing K-12 students next year, ½ days so that they can be bussed out to their homeschools for total immersion with their peer groups. We are continuing to work on the exact details for this change.
We have made some safety changes in our building. Our front and back buildings are locked at all times, except the front doors. Teachers have a key to get into the back building when they walk their children to lunch, art, library, etc. We have changed our Latch Key so that parents have to knock at the supervisors door to be let in the building. Our staff has reviewed and we are scheduling some practice sessions for our code red procedures.
We have worked on creating a proposal for Kids Club (latch key), Kinder Learning (3 and 4 year old preschool program) and KinderCare (daycare program) to continue and begin for next year.
